1.0 Release!
After 11 years, I've finally finished the corebook of Vertigo. 190 pages with 35 pieces of art.
For anyone new to Vertigo, its a crunchy system that shares much with the old wargames that RPGs came from with modern quality of life improvements. The setting imagines a world where humanity is not alone in the galaxy and artificial intelligence has become common place. The setting may appear utopian to the standard citizen of the core worlds but the further you dig the more you'll uncover the shady dealings that makes it all possible. Meanwhile life on the frontier is a constant struggle between scarce resources, inhospitable planets, and the constant threat of alien raiders. Players adopt the role of citizens working in this murky underworld. Pirates, smugglers, mega-corp agents, military operatives on deniable operations, anything is possible.
I'm not stopping here though. The corebook will be getting a physical release once I finish setting up printing. Two expansions are already available for beta testing. Fleet Action adds rules for space combat and Ground War adds mass combat rules for long war campaigns. Together, the books even allow a seamless planetary invasion to be played. Fleet Action is the next book slated for an update, with some much requested features being added.
Looking further out, two more expansions are planned. One for the largest scale campaigns where players take the role of national leaders and another that pushes the timeline to the end of the universe. The later of those will be adding more playable species that are compatible with the corebook/everything else.
I hope everyone enjoys the handwork I've put into this project.
