Art Complete, Tellus Rework, and Drone/Frame Rebalance
Got some great news and a new update to Vertigo today. This week, I finished the last of the art for the corebook! The next update to Vertigo will very likely be the full release (baring any major errors anyone finds). The full art pdf will be available as soon as I complete an editing pass and some formatting updates. The hardcover print will be coming a little after that but I expect it to take longer since I'll need to wait for print proofs and setup distribution. There will always be a free pdf version for the people who just want the rules so they can play with friends.
Now for this update. The two highlights are the update of the Tellus and a rebalance of drones and frames. I was never really happy with the Tellus before. Now they've got a new description that I think works better and some new game mechanics that should be more fun. This also moved them to the advanced species section as they're more complicated. I think this also has a nice balance between the number of basic and advanced species. Should be something for everyone.
Drones and frames got rebalance. Previously, they were too much book keeping and offered far too much advantage for their cost. Now their price should reflect their effect. More cavalry equipment was also added, so a frame/drone-centric campaign will have more diversity. This also plays nicer with Ground War.
Other Changes:
Renamed Heavy Pulsar to Heavy Scrambler
Added S1 rockets and mortars. These have more limited options than S2 and S3
Increased LAW range to 300m
Reworked Drones and Frames and their weapons/equipment
Renamed Fulgurate Armature to Fulgur Armature
Renamed Accipiters to Kestrel
Type-39 ATGM Carrier renamed to Type-39 Tank Hunter thanks to weapon change
Added satchel charge rules
Added wired detonators
Changed S2 grenades to S3 to match reworked frames and drones
Added note that small arms modifications also apply to cavalry weapons
Fixed bayonet modification effect
Added missing descriptions for Kyrlov VTS and Type-34 Thunderstrike weapons
Renamed Hand-Fire tag to No Reload
Adjusted HEAT rocket damage and tags
Added new ammo types
PIAS armor renamed to RCR Kit, rebalanced and new description
Added backblast tag to some launchers that were missing it
