Fleet Action Enters Playtesting, FTL explained, and the Mass Combat Supplement Gets a Name
It's been a while since our last update but rest assured that a lack of blog posts is not a lack of progress. Vertigo's corebook has seen some fixes as well as the addition of how FTL travel works. A good friend has also written some short stories to add some extra flavor and context to the setting. Sadly they haven't been added to this revision yet as they still need editing but it won't be long. The full change log can be found at the end of this post.
Vertigo: Fleet Action, the expansion for space combat, starts closed playtesting this week. If all goes well it won't be long before the general public can get their hands on it. The finished product should have over a hundred space ships to choose from as well as everything you need to run a campaign entirely in space.
Vertigo's mass ground combat expansion has also gotten a name. Vertigo: Ground War. It's progressing along at a good pace too. Assuming no major hiccups, it should be in playtesting within a month. With all three books together you'll be able to run a campaign that stretches all the way from a small band of characters up to massive capital ships duking it out nearly seamlessly. As it stands there are only minor 2 points of rule conversion to make the entire stretch work, and those are mostly to reduce the number of dice required. I'm quite happy with how its turning out.
The expansions will have the same release as the corebook with the artless PDFs being free and the PDF with art for a small fee as well as hard/soft cover options.
